The Wall Street Journal has claimed that the US Department of Defense may agree to transfer longer-range ATACMS missiles.

Previously, Pentagon officials claimed that the US Armed Forces were not able to provide original long-range ATACMS missiles as they had to meet their own military needs in the first place.

But now the US Department of Defense considers such an option because the US military will receive the next-generation Precision Strike Missile, according to US officials.

US President Joe Biden still must approve the transfer of the ATACMS of this particular modification, the range of missiles is up to 290 km.

Earlier, Pentagon found additional $300 million dollars for Ukraine in military aid which would become a temporary solution to Ukraine’s shortage of weapons.

POLITICO reported that the $300-million package would also include ATACMS, but as before, of an old modification, meaning a range of up to 140 kilometres. No further specific details on the deliver has been reported. The package will also include additional shells for 155-mm howitzers and GMLRS missiles.
