Most money transfers from Ukraine were made to Russia and Georgia – NBU

The amount of transfers made through funds transfer systems increased by 40% compared to the first half of 2020. Most of the money were transferred from Ukraine to Russia, Georgia and Turkey.

According to the report, the amount of transfers made through funds transfer systems increased by 40% compared to the first half of 2020.

In the first half of 2021, 388,580 million transfers were made using funds transfer systems within Ukraine for a total sum of UAH 166 billion or almost USD 6 billion in equivalent (in the first half of 2020 the sum made UAH 118 billion or some USD 4.6 billion in equivalent). Most of all funds traditionally went to Kyiv.

In the first half of the year the average transfer volume within Ukraine was UAH 427 (last year – UAH 360).

Almost all transfers within Ukraine were made through funds transfer systems created by residents (99.98%).

To remind, as of July 1, 2021 the international reserves of Ukraine amounted to USD 28.36 billion (in equivalent). In June, they grew by 2% due to foreign exchange receipts in favor of the government and interventions of the National Bank, which compensated for the repayment of external and internal obligations of the state.
