A new humanitarian convoy worth nearly €160,000 will depart from Riga for Ukraine on July 20, delivering vehicles, medical equipment and other essential supplies funded by donations from Latvian citizens and businesses, Latvian public broadcaster LSM reported.
The convoy was organized through the Ziedot.lv charitable platform, which has been raising funds for Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Donations are used each month to purchase vehicles, equipment and supplies for the Ukrainian military, volunteers and civilian institutions, UATV English reports.
The July convoy includes 14 vehicles, among them off-road vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a fuel tanker for the Nemesis unit of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces and an ambulance destined for a hospital in Kyiv.
The vehicles are also loaded with humanitarian aid, including generators, tactical equipment, Starlink satellite communication systems, computers and televisions for drone command centers.
According to LSM, all of the equipment was purchased through donations made by Latvian companies and private citizens via the Ziedot.lv platform.
The convoy will be accompanied by representatives of Ziedot.lv, the Bruņotava volunteer organization, volunteer drivers and members of the Ukrainian Embassy in Latvia. Delivery of the aid to Ukraine will be carried out by 18 volunteers from Ziedot.lv and Bruņotava.
Latvia has remained one of Ukraine’s strongest supporters since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, regularly providing military, humanitarian and financial assistance while supporting international initiatives to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
