The G7+ Ukraine Energy Coordination Group has expressed its readiness to help strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s energy sector against air and missile attacks.
According to a statement by the group’s co-chairs, reported by UATV English, the G7 emphasized its firm commitment to boosting Ukraine’s resilience.
“The G7+ Ukraine Energy Coordination Group is firmly committed to strengthening Ukraine’s position by increasing the resilience of its energy infrastructure through both passive and active air defense measures,” the statement said.
G7 member states also pledged to supply Ukraine with essential energy equipment and to ensure sufficient deliveries of natural gas and electricity during the winter period.
In addition, they committed to supporting reforms of Ukraine’s energy market and assisting in improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprises.
The co-chairs of the G7+ Ukraine Energy Coordination Group are Canada, the European Union, and Ukraine.
As previously reported, G7 countries have said they are ready to consider the confiscation of all frozen Russian assets in order to help achieve a just peace in Ukraine.
