European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that total EU and member state financial support for Ukraine has reached €168.9 billion following the allocation of a new €4.05 billion package.
Von der Leyen made the statement in a post on X, Ukrinform reports.
“The EU’s solidarity with Ukraine is unshakable. Today, the EU is allocating over €4 billion to support Ukraine. This is our commitment not only to rebuilding Ukraine, but also to its future as a sovereign and democratic country,” she wrote.
EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos also welcomed the decision, stressing that the new package is “a result of Ukraine’s own reforms and determination.”
“This work must continue, and the EU will stand by Ukraine every step of the way,” Kos added.
According to Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, the package includes €1 billion through ERA Loans financed from frozen Russian assets and €3.05 billion under the Ukraine Facility for reconstruction and integration. She also noted that Kyiv may soon seek additional funding from the International Monetary Fund.
