Turkey is ready to contribute all possible efforts to peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told French President Emmanuel Macron during a phone call.

According to the Turkish Presidential Directorate of Communications, Erdoğan stressed that Turkey consistently seeks a just and peaceful resolution of the Russia–Ukraine conflict and is closely following recent contacts between the parties in Alaska and Washington.

“Turkey is ready to make every effort in the peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine,” Erdoğan said.

The two leaders also exchanged views on bilateral Turkish–French relations, the peace process in Ukraine, the situation in Gaza, and other regional and global issues.

Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey attaches great importance to cooperation with France and will continue to encourage the development of bilateral ties in areas such as the defense industry.

He also noted that Turkey is actively working to facilitate a ceasefire in Gaza and believes that Israel should be restrained in its attempts to pursue an occupation plan there.

Earlier, during a separate phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Erdoğan stated that Turkey supports the establishment of a lasting peace in Ukraine with the participation of all parties.
