Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed new board at Naftogaz

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed a new board of directors of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine on Monday, September 27. The government terminated the powers of Naftogaz board members Serhiy Pereloma and Yaroslav Teklyuk by its decision.

Also, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine took over the powers of the supervisory board of Naftogaz.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine elected members of the board of Naftogaz:

Mauritius Kalugin, Advisor to the Head of the Board on Gas Production;

Vladyslav Volovyk, Advisor to the Head of the Board;

Olena Boichenko, Director for Human Resources and Social Policy of the Naftogaz Group;

Roman Chumak, Head of Treasury Operations of Naftogaz Group – Head of Treasury Department.

At the same time a member of the supervisory board of Naftogaz Yulia Kovaliv noted on Facebook that today is her last working day. She also confirmed that the powers of all members of the supervisory board have been terminated.

“Therefore, the shareholder (the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine – ed.) and the new management will make all decisions important for the company” – she wrote.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dissolved the Supervisory Board, dismissed the head of the board of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev, and appointed Yuriy Vitrenko in his place on April 28, 2021. The NJSC Naftogaz said that the decision was a legal manipulation. After that, the members of Naftogaz’s supervisory board submitted notices of early termination of their powers. In turn, the government called on the members of the Naftogaz Supervisory Board to remain in office until the election of a new composition. On September 7, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal instructed First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko to announce a competition within a week to select four independent members of Naftogaz’s supervisory board.
