Allies don’t need Article 5 to show unity and defend Israel, they should approach war in Ukraine same way – Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy points out that the free world was able to unite in order to defend Israel and proved it was not only a realistic thing to do, but also 100% effective.

He wrote this on his Telegram channel on April 15.

“The decisive actions of the allies prevented the success of terror and the loss of infrastructure and forced the aggressor to cool down. The same is possible in protecting Ukraine from terror, which, like Israel, is not a NATO member. And this does not require the activation of Article 5, just enough political will,” he stressed.

Hence, allies could show more unity when it comes to Russian vicious attacks that also combine both missiles and drones which destroy Ukrainian infrastructure and take away civilians’ lives. According to Zelenskyy, the allies can also achieve 100% effectiveness in Ukraine.

He once again thanked those partners who do everything to provide air defense systems to Ukraine efficiently.

“It is obvious that physical protection cannot completely protect some objects from terrorist attacks. Only sufficiently effective air defense can do this. We are grateful to those friends who understand this and quickly responded to our calls to support the Ukrainian air shield,” Zelenskyy said.
