Czech politicians hope to see Ukraine’s situation getting a coordinated international response similar to that Israel received as it was attacked by the Iranian drones and missiles.
That’s according to Euractiv.
“The Ayatollah’s overnight attack on Israel was successfully repelled thanks to a swift international response and a willingness to defend airspace. It is a pity that we do not defend the airspace over Ukraine with the same vigour,” Czech Minister of European Affairs Martin Dvořák (STAN party) said.
He received support from other Czech MPs. In addition, Czech Member of the European Parliament Markéta Gregorováalso joined the call to firmly support Ukraine and its air defence.
“In light of Scholz’s promise yesterday to supply Ukraine with more Patriots, I believe that the West will finally help build air defences that also protect Ukrainian civilians,” Gregorová stated.
Also, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala emphasized how essential US assistance is to Ukraine.
Fiala is to meet President Biden in Washington today, on April 15. Among other things, they will focus on . The Czech PM is also expected to meet Mike Johnson and other congressmen.
On April 13, Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel, according to official Israeli media. Still, 99% of them were intercepted by Israeli forces and its allies, the United States, Britain, Jordan and France confirmed they had involved in the defensive operation.
