Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrives in France

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the First Lady Olena Zelenska have arrived in French Normandy to participate in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings.

“This event and day serve as a reminder of the courage and determination demonstrated in the pursuit of freedom and democracy. Allies defended Europe’s freedom then, and Ukrainians do so now. Unity prevailed then, and true unity can prevail today,” Zelenskyy stated on X.

Additionally, his schedule includes meetings with Macron and Biden. Zelenskyy added that he is in France “for important events and meetings aimed at strengthening our country and promoting the unity among all those who respect human values and life”.

The meeting with Macron will take place on June 7. Macron promised to announce about some important steps to support Ukraine, it is assumed that he will allow French instructors train Ukrainian soldiers directly in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy will also meet with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu. Together, they will visit the KNDS plant that produces artillery ammunition for Ukraine.
