Nariman Aliyev’s feature film project “Ortalan” won the Avanpost Pitch Packaging Award at the cocoPITCH-2021 pitching.

The cocoPITCH series of pitching takes place within the Connecting Cottbus film market, which is one of the most important industrial events in Eastern Europe, and takes place during the Cottbus International Film Festival (Germany).
The events of the historical drama “Ortalan” take place during the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944. The main character is a 12-year-old boy Ismail, who returns from the mountains to his native village of Ortalan and finds it empty. He goes in search of his family and answers. The film project is created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
Director Nariman Aliyev is known for the film “Homeward” (“Evge”), which was presented in the program “Special Screenings” of the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival.
