This year, Natalka Vorozhbyt’s film “Bad Roads” was nominated for the Oscar of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the “International Feature Film” category.
This is reported by UA with the reference to Ukrinform.
The name of the winning film was announced on September 24 following a meeting of the Oscar Committee of Ukraine.
“In the 2021 season, Natalka Vorozhbyt’s film “Bad Roads“ is being nominated for the American Film Academy race” – said Alik Shpyliuk, chairman of the Ukrainian Oscar committee.
According to Shpyliuk, the version of the film that will be shown at the competition is different from the one that was released in Ukraine.

Natalka Vorozhbyt’s film consists of four short stories. The events take place in the Ukrainian East during 2015.
5 films took part in this year national selection for the Oscar – “Reflection” directed by Valentyn Vasyanovych, “Stop- Earth” by Kateryna Hornostay, “Bad Roads” by Natalka Vorozhbyt and two international projects – Ukrainian-Georgian film “Why I’m Alive” directed by Villen Novak and “Rhino” by Oleg Sentsov, created jointly with German and Polish colleagues.
