Ukraine’s U-23 women’s basketball team took third place at the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup in China, Ukrinform reports.
The Ukrainian team defeated Indonesia with a score of 21-9, Kazakhstan with a score of 15-7, and the Netherlands with a score of 16-14 while qualifiyng for the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, Ukraine gained victory over Iran with a score of 21-8.
The Ukrainian team beat out Germany with a score of 18-14 and occupied the third place of the competition.
The FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup is a brand new annual competition. It is the leading 3×3 event for national teams in the Under 23 category. Players who participate are selected by their countries’ national federations.
