The NATO Summit in Ankara has brought concrete results for Ukraine in strengthening protection against Russian ballistic missile attacks, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, UATV English reports.
According to Sybiha, Ukraine is working with several countries that have anti-ballistic interceptor missiles in their stockpiles.
“There are a number of countries that have anti-ballistic missiles available in storage. We are working with each of these countries through different channels and different modalities on how to obtain them,” Sybiha said.
The foreign minister also said Ukraine is pursuing a separate track focused on establishing domestic production of anti-ballistic capabilities.
He noted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had held talks with leaders of countries capable of accelerating or providing the necessary components for creating an air defense system in Ukraine with anti-ballistic capabilities.
The discussions come as Kyiv continues to urge partners to supply additional interceptor missiles, particularly for Patriot systems, amid intensified Russian ballistic missile attacks against Ukrainian cities.
