Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for Ukraine during the NATO summit in Ankara, saying Ankara will continue using its diplomatic channels to encourage Russia to move toward peace while maintaining military assistance to Kyiv, UATV English reports.
Speaking at the summit, Erdoğan said he supports U.S. President Donald Trump’s vision for achieving peace in Ukraine and welcomed the Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, which coordinates allies’ efforts to provide Ukraine with urgently needed military capabilities.
“We will continue our contribution to the military support we provide to Ukraine from our own national stocks,” Erdoğan said.
The Turkish president stressed that Ankara remains committed to supporting Ukraine while pursuing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war. He said Türkiye would continue to use its communication channels with both sides in an effort to facilitate progress toward a peaceful resolution.
Erdoğan’s remarks come as NATO allies seek to accelerate military assistance to Ukraine, including strengthening air defense capabilities and coordinating support through the PURL mechanism.
