Russia is already preparing a false-flag provocation to justify further aggression, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on X, UATV English reports.

According to him, recent statements from the Kremlin may be part of the information groundwork for an operation by Russian special services. Sikorski compared such actions to the methods used by Nazi Germany before its invasion of Poland in 1939.

The statement came after remarks by Vladimir Putin about possible retaliatory strikes against European countries. Warsaw believes that such rhetoric is aimed at further escalating tensions in the region.

“This sounds like an announcement of a provocation. I expect an attack on Russian territory under a false flag, to which Putin will then ‘respond.’ Let me remind you that in August 1939, the Abwehr staged a ‘Polish’ attack on the radio station in Gleiwitz in order to create a pretext for war,” Sikorski said.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Andrii Melnyk, stated that Ukraine remains ready for direct negotiations with Russia in pursuit of a just and lasting peace. According to him, Kyiv continues to propose a ceasefire along the front line.
