Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that Ukraine is currently in a stronger military position than it was previously and outlined seven key indicators that, in his view, demonstrate Kyiv’s growing advantage on the battlefield, UATV English reports.

Ukrainian forces are killing or wounding approximately 35,000 Russian troops per month, a rate that has remained consistent over the past six months. At the same time, Russia is reportedly able to recruit only around 27,000 new personnel per month, Finnish president said.

According to Stubb, the casualty ratio has shifted significantly in Ukraine’s favor, from roughly 1:3 to 1:8.

He noted that about 95% of battlefield losses are now caused by drones and missile strikes, while direct combat engagements have become less common.

Stubb also stated that in March, Ukraine for the first time launched more missiles and drones than Russian air defenses were able to intercept.

Ukrainian drone production continues to expand and could reach 10 million units annually, according to the Finnish president.

In April, Ukraine reportedly regained more territory than it lost for the first time since the start of the full-scale war.

Stubb argued that these trends indicate Ukraine’s increasing effectiveness in modern warfare and highlight the growing role of technology, particularly drones and precision strike capabilities, in shaping the battlefield.
