Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced important results from the latest Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format) meeting, emphasizing that agreements reached with international leaders are now being actively implemented, UATV English reports.
According to Zelenskyy, the update followed a briefing from Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Partners at Ramstein noted Ukraine’s strong position on the battlefield — I am grateful to every one of our combat brigades for this,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that there is now a clear understanding among allies of Ukraine’s needs, particularly in air defense systems and joint weapons production. At the same time, he underlined that the key priority is the full and timely implementation of all announced commitments.
“When our defense is sufficiently supplied, Russia has no real ability to achieve its occupation goals,” he added.
Zelenskyy confirmed that five partners have committed new contributions to the PURL program, which supports the supply of critical defense equipment.
Among the newly announced contributions:
- Germany — continued cooperation on air defense and Ukraine’s deep-strike capabilities
- United Kingdom — ongoing efforts to supply drones and expand joint capabilities
- Norway — over $500 million for drone support to brigades and $150 million to strengthen logistics
- Netherlands — more than €200 million for drones
- Spain — readiness to work within the EU’s SAFE program to scale joint defense production
- Canada — additional support for key defense sectors
- Belgium — extra funding for ammunition supplies and strengthening air defense
- Lithuania and Estonia — contributions to the PURL initiative
Zelenskyy concluded by noting that Ukraine continues to inform partners about its current defense needs and ways to increase pressure on Russia in pursuit of a just peace.
“Thank you to everyone who helps,” he said.
