Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, best known for developing the Flamingo missile, has announced the development of two new ballistic missiles — FP-7 and FP-9 — as well as new air defense systems.
The presentation took place at the MSPO defense exhibition in Poland, where company representatives shared the first technical details.
FP-7
- Range: up to 200 km
- Maximum speed: 1,500 m/s
- Circular error probable (CEP): 14 meters
- Warhead: 150 kg
- Maximum flight time: 250 seconds
- Launch platform: ground-based
Designed for medium-range strikes, FP-7 is intended for rapid response against operational targets.
FP-9
- Range: up to 855 km
- Speed: 2,200 m/s
- Warhead: 800 kg
- Flight altitude: up to 70 km
- Accuracy: 20 meters
With its extended range and heavy payload, FP-9 is aimed at striking deep into enemy rear positions.
“Our main focus right now is ballistics and air defense,” a company representative said at the session “Fire Point: Flamingo Missile Systems and Long-Range Drones. How Ukraine Changes the Tide of War with Asymmetric Weapons.”
Fire Point also confirmed plans to launch solid rocket fuel production in Denmark. The facility will be located next to Skrydstrup Air Base, home to Denmark’s F-35 fighter jets. Production is set to begin on December 1, 2025, marking the first known case of a Ukrainian defense company opening manufacturing operations in the kingdom.
Solid rocket fuel, which requires no fueling before launch, is easy to store and provides stable combustion. Initially developed for the Flamingo missile booster, it is now likely to be used in Fire Point’s upcoming ballistic missile systems.
