Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that proposals for the military component of security guarantees are being developed to support ongoing diplomatic negotiations and will soon be presented to the national security advisers of partner countries.

Syrskyi reported this on Telegram following his participation (via videoconference) in a meeting with the chiefs of defense of Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Christopher Cavoli, which took place in Washington on August 19–20.

“Together with the chiefs of defense of partner countries, we are developing a military component to support diplomatic negotiations aimed at ensuring sustainable peace for Ukraine and all of Europe. The prepared proposals will be submitted to the national security advisers of partner countries for proper consideration within the framework of ongoing diplomatic efforts,” Syrskyi stated.

He added that further planning and coordination will continue in line with the progress of negotiations.

Syrskyi emphasized:

“I am convinced that through joint efforts, with the political and diplomatic support of Ukraine’s dedicated partners, we will be able to achieve real peace and guarantee security for Ukraine and the entire democratic Europe.”

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi are working on the military component of Ukraine’s security guarantees.
