Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following his meeting with General Keith Kellogg in Washington, stated that Russia can only be forced into peace through strength — and U.S. President Donald Trump has that strength.

The head of state thanked Kellogg for the meeting, which took place ahead of the talks between the presidents of Ukraine and the U.S., as well as European leaders, in Washington on Monday.
“President Trump invited Ukraine and other European countries to Washington today. This is the first time for such a meeting format — very significant,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that the issue of peace concerns all of Europe:
“When peace is discussed for one in Europe, it means peace for all in Europe. We are ready to continue working as productively as possible to end the war and to reliably guarantee security. These are the key issues,” he emphasized.
Zelenskyy also reported that during the night, Russian attacks killed civilians, including two children, and left dozens injured.
According to him, the meeting discussed the battlefield situation, as well as the diplomatic opportunities of Ukraine, Europe, and the U.S.
“Russia can only be forced into peace through strength, and President Trump has that strength. We must do everything right to make peace real,” Zelenskyy stressed.
According to media reports, after the February scandal in the Oval Office, British officials tried to teach Zelenskyy to “speak Trump’s language” — an approach expected to be put into practice during Monday’s White House talks.
Axios also reported that the White House asked Ukrainian officials whether Zelenskyy would wear a suit for his meeting with Trump in the Oval Office on Monday.
Zelenskyy’s clothing became an issue during his previous Oval Office meeting with Trump, which ended in a diplomatic fiasco.
