President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the heads of Ukraine’s law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, according to a statement published on his official Telegram channel, as reported by Ukrinform.
“It was a much-needed meeting, a frank and useful conversation that truly helps. We all have a common enemy — the Russian occupiers. And defending the Ukrainian state requires a strong law enforcement and anti-corruption system, and therefore a real sense of justice,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that criminal cases should not drag on for years without lawful verdicts, and those working against Ukraine must not feel comfortable or immune to justice.
The president thanked the heads of the SBU, NABU, SAPO, NACP, State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Prosecutor General for their willingness to work as a team in the interest of Ukraine.
“We agreed that everyone will work constructively. We all hear what society is saying. We see what people expect from state institutions in terms of justice and effectiveness. We discussed the necessary administrative and legislative solutions that will strengthen each institution’s work, resolve existing contradictions, and remove threats. Everyone will work together, and we will support this politically,” Zelenskyy said.
He also announced that:
- Next week, a working meeting will be held to finalize a general action plan.
- Within two weeks, a joint roadmap should be ready — outlining specific steps to be taken to strengthen the country, address public concerns, ensure greater justice, and genuinely protect the interests of Ukrainian society.
As previously reported earlier, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law curtailing the powers of NABU and SAPO, which was later signed by President Zelensky.
In response, members of Parliament have begun collecting signatures and preparing a constitutional submission to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine challenging the law that curtails NABU and SAPO’s powers.
