Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that a new €175 million aid package will include radar systems, unmanned vehicles, and drones.
As part of this initiative, the Netherlands has signed contracts with Ukrainian companies for the production of 600,000 drones.
The Dutch government announced on Tuesday a new aid package for Ukraine worth approximately €175 million, Reuters reports, citing Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans, as relayed by Ukrinform.
As part of this package, the Netherlands will supply Ukraine with 100 radar systems to detect incoming drones and transmit data to air defense systems. Deliveries are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
In addition, €80 million will go toward drone procurement through the international Drone Coalition.
The aid package also includes 20 medical evacuation vehicles.
Brekelmans noted that the announcement comes ahead of the NATO Summit in The Hague and follows a significant deal with the Ukrainian defense industry worth €500 million for the production of 600,000 drones.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in early 2022, the Netherlands has pledged around €10 billion in military support for Ukraine.
As previously reported, the two-day NATO Summit begins today, June 24, in The Hague, with participants set to focus on three key issues: increasing defense spending, boosting defense production, and sustaining long-term support for Ukraine.
