The plane carrying top Polish government officials, senior commanders of Poland’s ground, air, naval and special forces, and bishops crashed near the Russian city of Smolensk on April 10th, 2010.
There were 96 people on board, all of them were killed. Including the country’s president Lech Kaczyński and his wife.
Poland’s former defense minister Antoni Macierewicz has been one of the most vocal supporters of claims that the crash was staged by the Russian authorities.
