Everything documented by Ukrainian journalists is the truth about Russia’s war against Ukraine and evidence of its crimes, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a message marking Journalist Day, UATV English reports.

According to Zelenskyy, the work of journalists is critical for ensuring accountability for Russian attacks and war crimes, as well as for showing the world the reality Ukrainians are living through.

“Everything that Ukrainian journalists record is our truth about this war and proof of Russia’s crimes. It is important that this work is of high quality and contributes to accountability for all crimes and strikes against life,” the president said.

He thanked Ukrainian media professionals for their dedication, noting that they continue to report under dangerous conditions and play a key role in informing both Ukrainian society and the international community.

Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude to foreign journalists who, as he put it, are “on the right side of history” and help ensure that the world does not ignore or remain silent about the war in Ukraine.

According to him, such international media support contributes to maintaining political backing for Ukraine at the global level.

At the same time, the president stressed the importance of honoring journalists who have lost their lives during the war.

“We must preserve the memory and respect the contribution of those journalists who died because of this war,” Zelenskyy said.

Ukraine marks Journalist Day by recognizing the role of media in defending truth, documenting war crimes, and supporting the country’s fight for independence.
