Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Peter Magyar on his appointment and the start of his work as Prime Minister of Hungary.
According to UATV English, Zelenskyy announced this on social media platform X.
According to him, it is symbolic that the inauguration takes place on Europe Day.
“Ukraine is ready to deepen cooperation with Hungary and build strong relations between our countries based on good neighborliness and respect for our people,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that “together, we can bring greater strength to our nations and make all of Europe stronger.”
“I wish you success and good results in office!” Zelenskyy added.
Newly elected Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar arrived at the country’s parliament building on Saturday, May 9, and took his oath of office.
“Centre-right leader Peter Magyar was sworn in as Hungary’s prime minister on Saturday,” the report says.
He assumed the position after winning on promises of change following years of economic stagnation and strained relations with key allied countries during the tenure of his predecessor Viktor Orbán.
As reported earlier, Hungarian election winner Péter Magyar announced that the official inauguration ceremony as Prime Minister would take place on May 9.
