U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Ukrainians who sought refuge in the United States due to Russian aggression may be allowed to stay in the country until the full-scale war ends.

He made this remark while speaking with journalists, and a video clip of the conversation was posted on social media platform X by a DW reporter.

One of the journalists asked Trump whether he would allow Ukrainians currently in the U.S. to remain until the end of the full-scale Russian war. Trump responded affirmatively.

“I think so. Many people from Ukraine have come to us, and we are working with them,” he said.

It is worth noting that in January, after Trump assumed office, officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ordered the suspension of several programs that allowed migrants to temporarily settle in the United States — including a key initiative that facilitated entry for Ukrainians.

In early April, some Ukrainians residing in the U.S. under a humanitarian program received erroneous emails notifying them that their status had been revoked.
