State Enterprise “The International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine” Launches French-Language YouTube Channel UATV Français

The State Enterprise “The International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine” (IBMPU) has launched the French-language YouTube channel UATV Français. The platform has already gained its first thousand subscribers, while videos on the channel have surpassed 130,000 views.

On UATV Français, viewers can watch the broadcaster’s original content adapted into French, including major news on steps toward achieving peace in Ukraine, the development of cooperation between Ukraine and its partners — particularly in the defense sector — as well as statements and addresses by the President of Ukraine and world leaders. UATV Français will also introduce French-speaking audiences to various aspects of life in Ukraine, stories of the resilience of Ukrainian society, and cultural and social initiatives.

The launch of the French-language channel became a logical step in developing the UATV ecosystem in order to deliver pro-Ukrainian messages to international audiences as broadly as possible. French is currently an official language in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, and many African countries. The new UATV Français platform is reaching precisely this target audience: 40.3% of views come from France, 15% from Canada, and 4.4% from Belgium. Overall, foreign audiences account for 98.7% of total viewership. Among the top cities by views are Paris (France), Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Montreal (Canada), Quebec City (Canada), and Lomé (Togo).

“After launching Turkish-, German-, Polish-, and other-language versions, we began developing the French-speaking direction — not only searching for new platforms, but also expanding our language palette to convey the truth about Ukraine, Russian aggression, and our European path in a language the world understands. Currently, the UATV Français project operates in test mode: we are studying content consumption culture in French-speaking countries and are already seeing the first positive results.

Active audience feedback during the testing phase proves how much honest news about Ukraine is in demand. In addition, we potentially view UATV Français as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties and attract new allies and partners for the future reconstruction and modernization of our state. We want the world to learn about Ukraine without intermediaries — directly, honestly, and in the audience’s native language,” said Vadym Lubchak, head of the digital direction at the State Enterprise “The International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine.”

The greatest interest among viewers on the new platform has already been generated by:

  • an interview with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi about the situation on the front line and the plans of Ukraine’s Defense Forces (99% of the audience from abroad, including 42.3% of viewers from France, 16.1% from Canada, and 6.8% from Belgium);
  • a news program covering successful strikes by Ukrainian drones on logistics and oil facilities deep in the Russian rear, as well as the significant increase in personnel losses of the Russian army at the front (98% of views from abroad, including 43.1% from France, 18.3% from Canada, and 5.5% from Belgium);
  • a report about the village of Teremakhivka in Kyiv region, which remained under occupation for more than a month at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine — the material was dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region from Russian occupiers (99% of views from abroad, including 46% from France, 17.2% from Canada, and 5.5% from Belgium).

It should be recalled that in February 2026, the State Enterprise “The International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine” launched the Polish-language YouTube channel UATV po polsku.
