The situation at the front in Ukraine is dynamic, in some areas the Russian invaders are trying to put pressure on the Defense Forces in order to divert reserves. This was announced on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by military observer Denis Popovich.
“As those who are fighting in the Svatovo-Kreminna direction, towards Lyman, Kupiansk, say, the situation there is such that it very often happens that the enemy takes some kind of landing, then they knock him out. That is, the situation is changing very dynamically. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that one message contradicts another. Yes, indeed, the enemy is trying to exercise pressure. Obviously, one of the targets is the settlement of Borova, which is located on the Oskil River, ”said the military observer.
According to him, it is noticeable that the Russian army is aimed, first of all, to take positions on the Oskil River in order to partially regain the territorial losses that it suffered as a result of the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces last fall, to occupy Kupiansk as a hub city, very important for logistics, and move on, to the Kharkiv region.
“It should be noted that another task of the enemy is to divert reserves from the Bakhmut direction and, perhaps, even from the South direction. That is, they solve such a set of tasks, trying to advance towards Lyman, towards Kupiansk, ”Popovich said.
The military observer added that the Russians are bringing into battle tank regiments from the 4th Kantemirovska tank division, which is equipped with new equipment.
“This indicates that they were ready for this offensive. As a matter of fact, they have been preparing for it since the spring of this year, it was supposed to go, let’s say, in parallel with their attack on Bakhmut, ”Popovich said.
Now, according to him, the Russians intend to force the Ukrainian military to transfer reserves.
“But their common task remained the same — to seize the Donetsk region. And, as representatives of our military command say, to create a buffer zone in the Kharkiv region in front of the borders with the occupied Lugansk region. Therefore, in general, their tasks remain relevant, and they are trying to implement them. This offensive in the Lyman direction was quite expected, ”Popovich noted.
