Ukrainian authorities claim the city of Kharkiv haven’t been hit with aerial bombs since 2022.

Occupants hit a residential building, killing at least 1 person and wounding 18 people.

“Bolstering Ukraine’s air defense and expediting the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine are vital tasks. There are no rational explanations for why Patriots, which are plentiful around the world, are still not covering the skies of Kharkiv and other cities,” Zelenskyy reacted to the attack in a post on social media.

According to the Police of Kharkiv, Russia used a recently developed type of bombs UMPB D-30, an analogue for American SDB, which is based on FAB-250 and has been already used to strike the Donetsk region.

“This is something between a guided aerial bomb which they [Russians – ed.] have used recently, and a missile. It’s a flying bomb so to say,” Volodymyr Tymoshko, head of the Kharkiv regional police, said describing the bomb.

On March 22, Kharkiv was almost left without electricity after a massive Russian attack on the power system on March 22. The city is still struggling with electricity shortage as the local thermal power plant, Kharkiv TPP-5, was severely damaged.
