Polish ex-president Wałęsa called to attack Moscow if Russia invades Ukraine

Former Polish President Lech Wałęsa believes that the world should attack Moscow if Russia attacks Kyiv. He stated this in an interview with Rzeczpospolita Polish newspaper.

He did not specify the type of attack in question (military, political or economic) though.

“This time he (Putin – ed.) has gone too far. You can’t retreat, because each of his next attacks will be even worse. The whole world must mobilize and prevent an attack on Ukraine. If Putin attacks Kyiv, there must be an immediate reaction – an attack on Moscow. We need to prepare, for every possible step (of Russia, – ed.),” Lech Wałęsa said.

When asked by a journalist whether Poland should support Ukraine militarily, the former president replied that the country should do everything possible, “even recruit volunteers,” to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression.

“Because here our common interest is not a step back. All the forces that we only have, we must sacrifice and put at the disposal of Ukraine,” the politician said.
