The Ministry of Justice of Poland denies reports from the Israeli media, according to which Poland froze the amendment to the law on the Institute of National Remembrance, Yevropeiska Pravda reported, with reference to Polish Radio.

On Feb. 24, Israeli media reported that Poland was under pressure from Israel and froze the amendment to the Law on the Institute of National Remembrance. On Feb. 25, Jan Kanthak, spokesperson for the Minister of Justice in Poland, denied this information.

The amended law should come into force from the beginning of March. The law would make it illegal to blame Poland for any atrocities committed by the Nazis in their country during World War Two.

This new law has led to a conflict in relations with Ukraine, Israel and the United States, because it absolves Poland of all wrongdoing for Nazi crimes and places blame solely on others.
