In the Black Sea, the initiative belongs to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, the Russian Black Sea Fleet has not been completely destroyed, because its main striking force is launch vehicles. The enemy still has them and can strike, even if they are in the port of Novorossiysk. This was stated by the speaker of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army “South” Sergei Bratchuk on the FREEDOM TV channel.

He recalled that the day before, Russian troops launched eight Caliber missiles across Ukraine from the Black Sea. Six of them were destroyed by air defense forces, but two still flew.

“We really appreciate the potential of the Calibers that the enemy has accumulated today, because over the past six months he has only used these missiles three times for massive attacks. Therefore, from this side, of course, the enemy has potential. The battle at sea has not yet been won, although local battles and very serious victories are on our side,” emphasized Bratchuk.

As long as there are launch vehicles, even in Novorossiysk, this is a big threat, the expert believes. This attempt by the Russians to apply pressure from the sea is still potentially very serious, he says.

In addition, according to Bratchuk, Russian troops have recently stepped up aerial reconnaissance.

“It doesn’t just happen in the south. This is not only about the Odesa region, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. The enemy is preparing, trying to find new functionality for the use of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. But the most important thing is that the enemy has Calibers, and using submarines, he can try to deliver these attacks again,” the speaker emphasized.

The presence of a sufficient number of air defense systems will allow the Ukrainian military to intercept these targets and shoot down everything as much as possible, Bratchuk emphasized.

“So the battle at sea continues. There is still a lot of work to do. And here the issue of demilitarization of Crimea is important. We understand this very well too. Everything is interconnected: Crimea, Novorossiysk, and the final fate of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. I hope it will be the same as that of the cruiser “Moscow,” summed up the broadcast guest.

Earlier, on the FREEDOM TV channel, military analyst and ex-SBU employee Ivan Stupak said that it is easier to destroy Russian military equipment in the Black Sea than in the sky, since it has limitations. Russia is forced to withdraw its ships in order to preserve them.
