FREEDOM TV staff helps volunteers working in the east and south of Ukraine

For more than three months, the FREEDOM TV channel has been helping those who usually help themselves – volunteers who continue to heroically defend the cities of the Donetsk region and southern Ukraine on the humanitarian front.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the team of the Ukrainian foreign broadcasting channel FREEDOM has been fighting daily on the information front for the victory of Ukraine.

FREEDOM war correspondents covering the situation in the zones of direct hostilities in the east and south of Ukraine see every day the humanitarian catastrophe that befell the residents of the front-line settlements.

That is why the employees of the state enterprise “Multimedia Platform for Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine” (the owner of the FREEDOM TV channel) laid the foundation for the humanitarian initiative “FREEDOM – OUR HOUSE” and have been helping residents and volunteers in the east and south of Ukraine for more than three months.
“We cannot stay away from the needs of people about whom we make dozens, hundreds of stories. Each story from the front line of our heroic female journalists is a small film. The State Ukrainian Foreign Broadcasting is one of the best “documentaries” of the modern war in different languages. Personally, when I come home, to Donbas, I want to share, protect, and reassure. That is why our humanitarian initiative to help those who help people in the east and south of Ukraine arose. “FREEDOM IS OUR HOUSE,” comments Oleksiy Matsuka, editor-in-chief of the FREEDOM TV channel.

As part of the initiative, generators, fuel, and food are delivered to settlements where there is no electricity. In particular, FREEDOM journalists handed over the generator to the volunteer center in Bakhmut, which is under round-the-clock shelling. Therefore, local rescuers, doctors, social workers, residents can charge phones, flashlights and boil water.

“FREEDOM TV channel brought us a wonderful generator. I hope it will serve us for a very long time, and we will finally resume the work of our center and give people bread, groceries, food, clothes,” says volunteer Iryna.
