German Chancellor Olaf Scholz claims Russian troops suffer the loss of 24 soldiers per month due to their operations in Ukraine.

He stated this during an event ‘Civil Dialogue’ at Democracy Fest, according to Ukrinform.

“There are figures indicating that 24,000 Russian soldiers are killed or seriously wounded each month,” the n-tv website quoted the chancellor.

According to Olaf Scholz, Putin is willing to sacrifice a huge number of lives for the sake of “imperialistic megalomania”. Scholz mentioned that during his last meeting with Putin, the Russian dictator spent much time proving why Ukraine and Belarus are a part of Russia.

Also, back then, Putin was focused on the fact that “Ukraine was approaching NATO”. It should be noted that Scholz assured Vladimir Putin Ukraine wouldn’t become a NATO member in the nearest 30 years.

In April, the Ministry of Defence of the UK estimated Russia’s losses at 450,000 people. As of May 27, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported around 502,000 dead and wounded among Russian military personnel.
