Ukraine’s leader could join the European Union summit on its first day, June 27.
This was reported by RMF FM.
“Such information is circulating,” a high-ranking EU diplomat informed the Polish media, adding that the agreement is expected to be signed “at the level of foreign ministers”.
No other details about the visit have been revealed to avoid security risks.
According to RMF FM journalists, the security agreement spans both security and EU membership commitments. The first one consists of “9 specific commitments”, including: providing Ukraine with supplies of modern equipment “in a predictable manner, continuing training of Ukrainian soldiers, support against hybrid and cyber threats, clearing mines, supporting nuclear security, exchanging intelligence information and supporting the Ukrainian defense industry.
“This is the best security guarantee that the EU can offer Ukraine,” stressed the source of RMF FM.
Earlier, media reported that Ukraine and the EU will sign a security agreement around this time as the sides have finalized the text of the document.
