Today, a two-week multination military exercise, Maple Arch, begins in in Lithuania, in the training center near Nemenčinė, the press service of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported
This year, the training has been expanded to include more countries. Over 300 servicemen from eight countries are involved: Canada, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Montenegro, Romania and Turkey. Macedonia is represented by observers.

The exercise is designed to examine the level of training of personnel and the cohesiveness of battalions.

Maple Arch is an annual 11-day command and staff training, in which the servicemen of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine traditionally take part.
