On August 31, analog television broadcasting will be stopped in Ukraine, the press service of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine reported.
The move is based on a Cabinet of Ministers decree in June.
Based on the recommendation of The National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting, analog broadcasting will continue in certain areas, such as along the borders.
The transition to the digital signal transfer technology is carried out according t0 the Geneva 2006 Regional Agreement.
On March 23, the government adopted a resolution to gradually turn off analog television broadcasting.
On July 31, the analog radio signal was turned off in the Kyiv and Kirovohrad regions.
