Two Ukrainian pairs have won silver medals at the international trampoline championship, 50th Nissen Cup, held in Switzerland, the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) reported.
Dmytro Sobakar and Anton Davydenko came second in men’s synchro. They scored 48.67 points and were only 1.38 points behind the gold medal holders, Ruslan Aghamirov and Ilya Grishunin from Azerbaijan. Bulgarians Mariyan Mihalev and Ivelin Yordanov took bronze.
Diana Kliuchnyk and Diana Tuvakbaieva won silver in women’s synchro with 46.91 points. Japan’s Chisato Doihata and Reina Satake won gold with an addional 1.85 points. Bulgarian sisters Hristina and Mariela Peneva came in third, taking another bronze medal for Bulgaria.
The 50th Nissen Cup took place in Arosa, Switzerland, between July 6 and 7.
The FIG World Cup series continues on Aug. 4 and 5 in Maebashi, Japan.
The oldest international trampoline competition, the Nissen Cup is named after American George Nissen, who invented the trampoline in 1934. The first Nissen Cup was organised in Switzerland in 1958 and is now part of the FIG World Cup series for trampoline.
