A Ukrainian-Italian movie, Easy, received an audience award at the Lighthouse International Film Festival in New Jersey, in the United States.

The movie won under the ‘spotlight narrative feature’ category, reported the Ukrainian State Film Agency.

‘Easy’ is Ukraine’s first official co-production with Italy. The film features Italian and Ukrainian actors: Nicola Nocella, Barbara Bouchet, Ostap Stupka, Veronika Shostak and Orest Garda.

The movie is directed by Andrea Magnani. It was created with the support of the State Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Italy and the  Friuli-Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund in Italy. The production was carried out by Fresh Production Group in Ukraine, and Bartlebyfilm and Pilgrim Film in Italy.

The movie has already been featured in more than 50 international film festivals.

The movie follows the life of Easy, short for Isidoro, a former race car driver, who is given a new job far from the racing circuits: taking a coffin with the body of a Ukrainian bricklayer, from Italy to a small mountain village in Ukraine. He quickly gets lost after he crosses the border, and his adventures then begin.

Lighthouse International Film Festival features films, documentaries and shorts made by talented film makers from all over the world.
