Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is deeply saddened by the news of the death of US Senator Lindsey Graham.
He announced this on his Telegram channel, UATV English reports.
He emphasized that Lindsey was a true defender of freedom and the values that make our world safer.
“He visited Ukraine ten times during the years of Russia’s full-scale invasion and was here, together with our people, when it was needed most. We were in constant dialogue, which I will miss. Just in the past week alone, we met twice.
While actively promoting bipartisan and bicameral support for Ukraine, in recent weeks he had been working on important initiatives that could help bring peace closer, including strengthening sanctions against Russia. We will always be especially grateful for his words of respect toward our people and the courage of Ukraine’s defenders. America and the world have lost a decisive leader,” Zelenskyy added.
Donald Trump also reacted to the death of Senator Lindsey Graham.
He called Graham one of the best people and senators he has known, and said details about the farewell would be announced later.
