In territories of Ukraine currently under Russian occupation, Russian forces are reportedly smuggling fuel by hiding tanks inside grain-hauling trucks.

The report comes from Ukraine’s National Resistance Center, as cited by UATV English. According to the group, Russian military units keep devising new covert methods to get fuel into occupied areas — most recently by installing plastic fuel containers inside grain trucks, then loading grain on top and covering everything with tarps to hide the setup.

This tactic allows Russian troops to disguise fuel shipments as ordinary agricultural transport in order to resupply their forces.

The Resistance Center suggests this points to mounting logistical problems for the Russian military in getting fuel to front-line positions. Repeated losses along supply routes have reportedly pushed occupying forces toward these hidden transport methods, which exploit civilian vehicles and infrastructure as cover — creating added risk for civilians living in occupied areas.

The report also notes earlier findings that Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed over 360 Russian fuel trucks and tankers in a single week along the supply route leading to occupied Crimea.
