Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said formal negotiations clusters between Ukraine and the European Union are expected to open in June as Kyiv continues advancing toward EU membership.
Speaking on Ukraine’s European integration process, Sybiha stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in accession talks and securing political support from EU member states, UATV English reports.
The Ukrainian foreign minister also mocked Kremlin demands to appoint former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder as Europe’s negotiator in talks related to the war.
Sybiha urged Moscow to stop what he described as propaganda-driven information provocations and sarcastically suggested that Russia might next propose actors Gérard Depardieu, Steven Seagal, or Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as mediators.
The remarks came amid continued Russian attempts to shape narratives around possible diplomatic formats and negotiations concerning the war against Ukraine.
