More than 30 injured, 1 killed in Kyiv and in the region: consequences of Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine revealed

Russian occupying forces carried out a massive overnight attack on Ukraine on May 14. Kyiv, Chernihiv region, Mykolaiv region, Kyiv region and other regions came under fire, UATV English reports citing local authorities and the State Emergency Service.

In the Mykolaiv region, a non-residential building caught fire. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties. In the Chernihiv region, an energy facility was damaged, leaving more than 31,000 subscribers without electricity. Restoration work will begin once the situation stabilizes. In Kharkiv, the glazing of a residential building was damaged, with no casualties reported.

Kyiv remained under a massive Russian attack for more than 12 hours. Russia launched drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles at the capital. According to the State Emergency Service as of 7:30 a.m., 32 people were injured, including a child; eight were hospitalized, and one resident was killed.

In one district of Kyiv, a residential building was damaged, with structural collapse reported. People may still be trapped under the rubble. Ten individuals have already been rescued, and emergency services continue operations at the scene.

The Kyiv region was also hit. One person was killed and seven injured. In the Boryspil district, five people were injured, including a child, and rescuers evacuated 30 residents from a multi-story building. Two people were injured in the Fastiv district.

The consequences of the attack were recorded in six districts of the region. Apartment buildings, private houses, vehicles, and enterprises were damaged. Fires broke out in several areas, and rescue services continue to eliminate the aftermath.

As reported, on May 13 Russian forces also carried out strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, residential areas, energy facilities, and logistics. One of the key targets was Ukraine’s railway system, with 23 strikes hitting railway facilities across western, northern, and central regions of the country.
