The Center for Countering Disinformation said Russia has intensified its information warfare campaign against Poland by attempting to discredit the Polish armed forces and discourage citizens from joining the military.

According to the CCD, Russian propaganda outlets are taking routine administrative procedures related to military registration and reserve checks out of context and portraying them in a panic-driven manner. The campaign frames these processes as alleged violations of citizens’ rights while presenting military recruitment centers as institutions people should fear.

The agency stated that Russia is attempting to implant the narrative that the Polish state is acting against its own citizens. The messaging is deliberately built around vague insinuations suggesting that “something is happening” while “the population is not being informed.”

The CCD stressed that Moscow’s goal is to weaken citizens’ willingness to defend their country, undermine trust between society, the state, and the armed forces, and create social tension inside one of Ukraine’s key allies.

Earlier this year, Polish authorities and analysts had already recorded Russian disinformation efforts aimed at fueling hostility and discrediting Ukrainians within Poland’s information space.
