President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is afraid of the possible transfer of American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

He said this in his Sunday address.

Zelenskyy noted that on Sunday, for the second time in two days, he had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to him, Ukraine and the U.S. are now engaged in detailed cooperation to strengthen Ukrainian air defense and “all our defensive capabilities: Patriots above all, other systems as well, and our active actions—our long-range capabilities.”

“We can see and hear that Russia is afraid the Americans might give us Tomahawks. That’s a signal that this kind of pressure can work for peace,” Zelenskyy said.

“We agreed with President Trump that our teams—our militaries—will be working on everything we discussed. This also concerns energy and gas. I’m grateful. We’re counting on results,” the president added.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday that Russia is particularly concerned about the possibility of the U.S. supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

On October 11, Zelenskyy also spoke with Donald Trump.

According to Axios, during that conversation Zelenskyy discussed the possibility of Ukraine receiving long-range Tomahawk missiles.
