US President Joe Biden is preparing to approve a new aid package for Ukraine, which will include air defense systems.

This was stated by White House spokesman John Kirby at a briefing on 27 December.

Kirby stressed that the USA firmly adheres to the position of strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system. He recalled the large-scale attack on Ukrainian regions on Christmas Day and confirmed that Ukraine will receive another defense aid package in the coming days.

“This package, of course, will include air defense systems to help Ukraine to repel such strikes, to conduct operations in the Kursk area and to defend itself from Russian attacks in the east of the country,” – said the White House spokesman.

Earlier it was reported that in the coming days the United States will announce the final package of assistance under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), using the remaining funds to purchase new weapons for Ukraine.

We shall remind you that on December 26, President Biden reacted to the massive Russian attack on Ukrainian regions on Christmas Day by promising to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system.
