During a meeting in Istanbul with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed bilateral relations, as well as the broader situation in Europe and the Middle East. The leaders agreed on new steps in security cooperation, particularly focusing on areas where Ukraine can support Turkey, including expertise, technology, and practical experience. There is clear political willingness on both sides to deepen cooperation, and the teams are expected to finalize the details in the coming days.
They also discussed practical steps for joint projects, including the development of gas infrastructure and potential cooperation in gas field exploration and production.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the President and the people of Turkey for their consistent support of Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity. He highlighted that the strong partnership between the two countries has enabled the implementation of meaningful projects that can strengthen the entire region.
