Today, April 12, Hungarians are determining the new composition of parliament. This was reported by a special correspondent of the FREEДOM, Vitalii Syzov, UATV English reports.

At 6 a.m. in Budapest, polling stations opened across the country. Hungarians will elect a new composition of the National Assembly.

The main contenders are Fidesz, led by Viktor Orbán, and the opposition party Tisza Party, headed by Péter Magyar. Although the ruling force maintains its position thanks to a stable electorate and regional support, recent polls indicate that the opposition party is rapidly gaining popularity.

According to Hungarian law, the votes must be counted no later than next Saturday, April 18. Independent polls predict a confident victory for the opposition.

It is worth recalling that the European Parliament sees serious threats to the fairness of Hungary’s parliamentary elections due to interference from Russia.

Earlier, the Center for Strategic Communications, citing a report by Alliance4Europe, reported that nearly 2,000 bots promoted Orbán on X ahead of the elections.

Pro-Viktor Orbán content was spread by a network of automated accounts from Africa and Asia, creating an illusion of support.

The scheme involved more than 1,770 accounts that subscribed to Hungarian pro-Russian pages, while retweets pushed the desired messages into recommendations and trends on X.
