The EU needs Ukrainian combat experience, particularly in countering drone attacks, emphasized the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.

“The European Union may consider that it is not at war with Russia, but Russia is already engaged in an unannounced hybrid war with Europeans. Therefore, we must be prepared for this,” he said.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha spoke about how many more countries plan to join the NATO PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative for purchasing American weapons for Ukraine.

He made the remarks during a press conference in Kyiv with EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas.

On October 13, Sybiha stated that seven more countries intend to join the NATO PURL initiative.

“Today we have six countries that have contributed specific amounts to support and continue the program. As of today, we can speak of the intention of seven more countries to participate with concrete contributions to this program,” the Ukrainian minister said.

European countries purchase U.S. weapons for Ukraine under the PURL program, developed in July by President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

So far, $2 billion worth of weapons have been funded, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed hope for monthly deliveries totaling $1 billion.

Kyiv has emphasized its reliance on the United States for supplying critical air defense systems and long-range missiles, especially amid intensified Russian bombardment of Ukraine.
